how secure

Postby shaungriff » Mon Mar 06, 2006 11:18 pm

hi, a friend of mine has a 52 plate transit which has no external lock barrels on any door for security i thought, however someones managed to break in by snipping the wiring at the rear doors which he reckons unlocks the vehicle ! is this true ?

My van was done (before I bought it) :(

I keep meaning to machine up some loom guards as they are so expensive for what they are.

£55 (think that's each!)

Even if you don't need it, grab it.

So much for the fabulous amount of money supposedly spent on security by Ford. Deadlocks anybody?

I think Ford did a re-routing of some of the wiring at the back door so that the central locking could not be activated that way anymore. Of course the tea-leafs didn't know that and still cut the wires, but couldn't get in :?

The £55 bit in the picture is just the white bit in case anybody doesn't know and is just to stop anyone sliding a knife in the door gap and cutting the loom. I think you only buy one thinking about it (for the drivers side rear door). :D
