Fitting Hyundai Alloys!!!

Postby vandorasbox » Sun Oct 26, 2008 11:41 pm

Hi all!!

I have a set of 15" x 6.5J alloy wheels with a PCD of 114.3 (4 stud!!) (off a Hyundai!!)

Can I get adapters to make them fit?? And what perils will I face?? Can I get a commercial tyre to fit??
Plus, can I lower? or stiffen my suspension??

I do use my van, to occassionally carry furniture!! but mainly to carry my fishing gear!! Plus I tow caravans and trailers, but not very often!!!!!!

Thanks for your advice!! :P :P

i'd keep away from 4 stud alloys - not strong enough imo :!:

if you do want to fit some alloys via adapters you need to do a few measurents as on a mk6 theres not much room under the arches :(

eventually i'll get round to redrilling a set of front hubs but as of yet i dont think its been done :D

as far as the weight it donesnt matter what you carry its what the van will take - for tyres you need to check them as each one has a weight rating on - all commercial and light truck tyres will be ok - for the wheels you just need to make sure they dont have a weight limit cast into them - if they do make sure it exceeds half theaxle weight limit :D

Cheers for that!!

There a really nice aftermarket wheel, but I wasn't sure if they'd be suitable, I was contemplating selling them on ebay, which I think I'll do now and find something more suitable! Any ideas on whats available??

well if you dont want any hassle
viewtopic.php?f=13&t=14913 :D

but if you do want to go down the adapters/redrill route you have a much better range and end up with a more individual van - go for BMW or mercedes PCD's bmw has a big range and mercedes shares the pcd with vw/audi and a few more - but also the vito and vw transporters have the wheels on :D

if you do want to go for adapters you'll need to do some measuring to see what offset you can under the arches and take it from there :D Greg (carnut1100) can do you drawings in cad so you can have adapters made on CNC 8)

Cheers again Mate!

Oh! and do you know if theres a diameter limit?? i.e. 16" 17" 18" etc. or does it depend on the width and under arch??

what about 5 stud off a Santa Fe there was a set on EBAY recently, they can take the weight I've got a 2.7 V6 with autobox in mine and it's a couple of tons I think

they still won't take the weight - the smallest transit GVW is well over 2000KGs - just buy some proper commercially rated alloys anf then you won't have to worry about the likes of VOSA etc

Santa Fe ain't much lighter than my Transit as it's got a V6 2.7 lump in it, in fact Transit handles better!
