If she has personal cover, rather than vehicle cover, then as long as she is with you it should be no problem

They won't tell me whereabouts it was... went to the holding yard today, it's like Fort Knox, it's apparently not been cleared by the police yet so I can't even touch it.. even though it's my property.

The yard would only communicate via pager and no chance of even seeing it yet...

however, by peering through the railings, I noticed it over in a corner- all the windows have been painted with white paint but otherwise it looked clean, as far as I could see.

The good news is, I'm not responsible for the storage fees until the police release it, at which point I will be up there making decisions.

I asked them if they would scrap it if I decided to do that- they said yes but would charge me £75 for the privelige...

I don't think it's going to be worth taking back, even though I never claimed on the insurance. The biggest problem is one of logistics... it needs a proper flatbed to move it and this will be £150-200 all day long. I doubt it's been driven since it was stolen tbh, so I wouldn't move under it's own steam.

If someone had a suitable recovery truck, they're welcome to it... loads of decent bits on it when it went missing.

Overall, not particularly optomistic about it all!!!

I hope they have just tried to disguise you bus to export it, and it just needs some TLC to get it back on the road again.
Do you no if you still have a current mot is it still valid, or do you need to get it retested (i would be tempted just in case, or at least get if checked over) like i said fingers and toes crossed for you.

Like you say, it would be nice to think it's relatively the same as when it was half-inched, strange that the windows have been blacked-out. They obviously had stuff in it that they wanted to hide... hmmmm maybe next time don't leave it in a stolen mini-bus...

I can't help but think the theives were stupid to sell it on in the first place. If it was legitamately bought, I feel sorry for the person that got conned... but c'mon, if you were offered a Transit with no plates, no V5, busted quarterlight and steering lock- would you buy it?!
Although the fact it was found parked on someone's drive, in broad daylight does sort-of suggest they thought it was kosher.

The police haven't said why they had reason to suspect it in the first place. What's even sillier is that I must have been only a stones-throw from it a few times in the last six months.

I think it will always be a bit of a mystery, all very unusual.

if it will go just book it for an mot somewhere near you get some insurance and drive it home then cancel the mot or take it for test then drive it back to place of repair as the rules were that you were allowed to drive to a test and then to a place of repair
as for the numpty who had the van yeh sure he bought it a few years ago i knew someone who was a petty villan (very petty) but he knew the system and how to work it once he had pinched a cement mixer and the plod found it in his back garden so he just stuck to the story he had bought it from some guy in a pub and paid what he thought was a fair price so the plod couldnt touch him since they couldnt prove it was him that stole it and because he claimed to have paid a fair price they couldnt nail him for recieving
