TDCi engine, what year?

Postby proboost » Sat Nov 08, 2008 1:11 am

Hi

Newbie here, looking to buy a Transit Connect in the next couple of days and was wondering what year the TDCi engine was available in?
I am also looking at tastefully customising the van, watch this space :)

The TDCI (90PS) engine has been installed ever since the Connect was launched in 2003 - the basic engine was a TDdi (75PS). There was a 1.8i petrol, with an LPG option too.

The 75Ps was changed to a TDCI around September 2006 to match the 90PS, and a 110PS derivative introduced a bit later in December 2006.

Thank you for clearing that up, is there any figures on MPG for both engines, I know the common rail TDCi is more economical, but by how much?
