Which is the best engine?

Postby lightning » Sat Nov 22, 2008 10:27 am

Now then...I've just been driving a 75ps instead of my 110ps, and in some ways it's better! No really! The thing is, it's smoother on acceleration and pulling away from junctions, even though it's not as fast of course. The 110 is so lively that it takes more effort to drive, one touch of the accelerator and it's off. The 75ps is more progressive and you don't need to think about it so much.
Of course more power is normally a good thing, but when driving a van all day on short drops smoothness is the better feature. Just get in, put your foot down and go. I 'd like to try a 90, it might be the ideal compromise for a van.

when i bought mine and didnt have the rack on it certainly seemed to have good all round characteristics smooth and progressive with good top performance certainly not the quickest vans but good enough :) mine still is lovely and smooth around town and a road stuff with rack on just was struggling on the motorways hence i got it re-mapped :) id love a 110 though :D

I have to say the 110 does go well on the motorway, but if yours is a 75 and has been remapped it'll be delivering not far short of 110bhp I would guess.

Well, it's going to be 110-120bhp I'm guessing. More than a 110 in standard form for sure.
