At what revs should this kick in and should it be noticable??

I have vnever thought my van was underpowered but my brother was driving it for a while andb said he couldnt notice the turbo kick in like on his van Renault Traffic.

Just made me wonder!!

What connect do you have? I have the 90ps and the turbo is powerful, sometimes kicks in a bit two fast and my father in law has the 75ps and you would not even know there was a turbo there.

I agree with that. I tried the 75ps and while it was OK, there was no real kick from the turbo, just steady acceleration. I've got the 110ps and on that the turbo comes in like warp drive at about 1700rpm.

There is a real kick when the turbo comes in on mine. Obviously it's no Subaru Impreza but it's pretty good for a van. I installed a Bluefin remap on Monday and this has made a real difference...it's almost comically fast from just under 2000rpm now. In fact I'm not certain it isn't too fast (for a working van). Press the accelerator down a bit in third and there's so much torque that the steering goes light. I've re-installed the standard settings tonight to see which is better for a delivery vehicle!

I must have the "non warp" 75 ps turbo as well!!

Its something i've never noticed lacking tbh. I drive about 4-500 miles a week and have always thought the wee van as plenty adequate for my needs. Some of my mates have driven it and have described it as pretty pokey for a wee van ans thats the way i've always though of it as well tbh. However it was only when my brother mentioned it i began to think about it.

No loss i suppose if ye dont think about it!! :D

Incase you have not noticed this is a forum for Transit Connects. We may go on about speeds of our vans abit. We also know that there are alot faster cars out there, but this is a transit connect website and we all own them........so we are going to talk about them.

Whats the 0-60 on your van then Geoff? I did a test on my old mk6 100ps and I thought it was pretty nippy until I got the stop watch out and 0-60 was about 15 seconds :o
Not sure what my 110ps is but feels quicker than the MK6 and have taken it to 120mph on the clock the mk6 did 115 on the clock. I swear the mk6 pulled better up hills?
Will be getting mine remapped in the new year.
Seems that you only need quarter of the throttle because once youve had that quick bit of torque it dont seem to pick up much more as quick :(
