mk1 v6 installation.

Hi everyone, I have just purchased a 1971 transit mk 1, 22000kms, came from germany. a stunner. no rust whatsoever. v4 running perfectly.
Now, I want to fit a v6 essex and g/box to it. i have picked up an `89 mk3/mk4 decommissioned ambulance, drove it home. engine/box now out , ready for transplant.
I would appreciate if anyone who has undertaken this project before would give me any advice as to the fitment issues involved. thanks todd.

with a mk1 V6 you will need the bullnose front if you dont use that you'll need to cut away the bulkhead

early ones were essex 89 cant be far off the change over year mine was a cologne and i think it was a 90

Thanks luke, I have bought a glassfibre nose plus bonnet from smith&deakin. I would of course prefer to keep her original flat front but cutting the perfect bulkhead makes me squeal. Also, the engine I have taken from the ambulance may of course be a cologne not an essex, how can i tell the difference. Plus, does it make any difference to the project in hand ?. Well, If i do decide to leave her original flat front and start [CUTTING] I will have a complete new glassfibre front for sale. whats the box 5 speed will be a cologne 4 speed (o/d) is an essex

if it is a cologne - just a thought as the V4 is a cologne base you might be able to use the origanal engine mounts
