Can't fault your logic Luke, just trying to slow the stampede :D
I must admit to have considered (I am not a great 'do-er' I must add ), but gullwing doors that folded
in 'half' shouldn't present too much of a problem 'providing' you roll the windows down first
(Like horizontal bi-fold doors)
I also seem to remember seeing on (probably You Tube') drop down/slide under/ doors but they were on a 'sporty car', so probably not too practical for a van.
I got a little black book with me poems in

my boss has a porsche 944 turbo that he uses for sprinting, it is fitted with lambo doors .......he hates them so much so he has just aquired a scrap 944 shell so we can
cut out the door posts to fit back in his so we can fit a standard set of doors back on it

hang on a minute that means he will have a set of lambo door hinges he don't want

i must confess the only thing they are good for is posing at the petrol station when you get out to fill it up,other than that they are a pain in the ar$£ :D

I once saw a pimp my ride episode where they fitted Lambo doors to a stock car...

They bought the hinge mech's 'off the self' from some after market suplier and they looked like they weighed half a ton.

They were massive bits of kit.

So im not surprised your boss has doesnt want them on his sprinting porsche. Its like starting a race with a bag of cement in the car..... .......

why cant you get in and out of the sliding door at rear. some people like putting obstacles in their way and use them as an excuse not to do it.    theres a way around everything if you want something badly just do it

Sliding doors are good...

How about getting hold of a transit with twin rear sliding doors, one on either side.
Making them into suicide doors then the front drivers and passengers door opens normally like the new Rolls Royce........

or perhaps another back to splitting like this nissan prototype.

If your throwing ideas into the pan... here is my half a sausage......
why not. keep standard doors, make twin side doors open in a suicide style
but.... remove the b pillars totally so the whole van opens up totally...
id have a go if i had a spare van to play with. i could have a go at up and over driver and pas door too..

or why not have one van, that has gullwings on one hinge, up+over doors on another hinge, suicide doors on another hinge and just decide which handle you want to pull to get in and out.
sh*t... i think ive drank too much vodka!
but how cool would that be!

my next project will have up and over doors. i dont have a garage to worry about.
