stooy they are still reasonable to get hold of , i bourt 2 on ebay the other week for mine as spare ,but i think the silver suround ones are abit harder to get depending if you have the ones with the hole in the middle or solid type for the tailgaite door! mine have just a black bit in the middle of the lense ! :D

Mark,
Mine are the ones with the chrome edge and the hole in the middle for the rubber door stoppers, as i have barn doors even tho they only open 90 degrees not 180. I was pissed i have missed two sets on ebay one went for heaps cause it was two complete lights and the other i go to work and thought S@!T i forgot to bid....

Thanks

i bought the complete ones thinking they were the same as my 1968 but when i received them they werent,i gave £40 for them so if anyone wants to give me my money back :D they are nos and mint, mk1 complete units with the ali back, i thought they were the ones with seperate indicator and stop/side light lenses with the stainless surrounds, but the lense is one piece but dose have the chrome surround and rubber bump stop in the centre and marked 69vb :D

oops geoff :? ... will those fit a mk2 ?

i am considering my options for my 84 mk2 ... i like the later phase 2 lights as they are complete units fog, reversing etc, but the earlier ones are neater ... however i have just repaired and strengthened the opening restrainers ... so dont know about changing to earlier barn door type ones

post up some photos (or a link to the ebay ad)

Doesn't your 84 have the phase2 lights, or is she a late phase1? If you have the earlier type, don't you have to have extra fog and reversing lights? For that reson, I think the later lights are neater.

yeah it had the phase 2 rear lights and while they are more practical in the fact that they have everything in one unit, i think the others look neater/tidier if you see what i'm meaning ?

i'm not adverse to cutting holes in the rear bumpers to flush mount some lights ..... hell i just cut a 4 foot hole in the side of it to fit a side door and removed the whole lower sections due to tin worm :( .. so i aint too scared to cut the back bumpers :P ... childs play !!
