I gave them a call but unfortunately they only sell it in 30metre rolls :(

However, another look on Woolies website and a quick call to them to confirm I spotted the right one got me 5 metres of chrome trim for £13 (this includes P&P) :D

Yeh right - like trying to to get the van resprayed for the last 2 and a half years

I don't know if this has been a Scottish problem or just an Edinburgh one, but it has been hellish to get any help at all with my van except for people on the Forum, otherwise she would have fallen to bits by now :!:

I've got a guy looking at the van on Saturday for a final quote, he has given me one just by seeing some photos I sent him, but it looks like it will come in at around the £2K mark :(

Mind you I am asking for a doorstep and wing replacement, respray, windscreen rubber replacement and a few other little jobs.

He is quoting 40 hours labour on bodywork and 25 for the respray.

But the sad fact is this is the only garage that has taken me seriously, all the others said they weren't interested/garage door too small or even came to look at the van and never bothered to get back to me with a quote :(

To be honest the last 2 years have really pi**ed me off with the crappy attitude of some garages/paintshops up here :?

Yeh I don't think it's too bad considering the sheer amount of labour I'm asking them to do.

It will help a bit that I am going to strip and reassemble all the chrome bits, lights etc and save a couple of hours labour charges.

They also have to rectify the bodged jobs of 2 previous garages, i.e. out of line wing, drivers wheel arch smothered in fibreglass to hide hole (don't ask)

But hopefully I shall have quite a mint van shortly :D

Can you see how the grey wing doesn't line up properly

You wouldn't believe it but I have actually got one nice new chrome wiper and 2 old ones but the rubber blade is ripped on them both :(

I'm still trying to figure out how to replace just the rubber bit that goes into the teeth like clamp - any suggestions :?:

Spotted that my local Halfrauds stock just rubber blade replacements. Can you not just slot these into your chorme wipers?

I guess there are some tabs that you might have to prise open to slide out the old blade, slide in the new one and crimp the tabs closed again.... but that sentence has no basis in experience
