manual box now as putting the auto in was going to be a lot of hassle...propshaft is diffrent in size and the end on the gearbox as well.and the hole in the floor is to small for auto box unless i was to cut out the bulkhead and floor from the auto.

Engine ready to go in..

And in the hole

but its a little tight back here at the very redundent egr valve..
Image
And if you think thats tight wait till you see how close the fan is..
Image
Oh yes the turbo rad does NOT fit a mk3.well it dont fit mine as the slam panel wont clear the rad at all as the turbo rad is 2 inches higher than the normal di rad.

Turbo rad on the left and normal di on the right.

And i know what you are asking..Did it run..
Image
Image
Yes it did and it sounds better close up with a very nice turbo whistle(no exhaust was fitted when i took the video,I hope to fit a exhaust tuesday.
Sorry about the dodgy quality of the video but it was dark outside (spec is inside but the lights are not to good)And the roaring is my space heater and diesel geny running..there is no way i was working outside in the cold...

hhhmmmm well it does drive really well with a very quiet back axle..The drive back from my workshop to home was loud to say the least mainly due to me forgeting to take the soundproofing to my workshop but its still quieter than a di....oh yeah i only had the downpipe attached as my welder is at home...but boy dont it go well it accelerates to 60 no problem(i did go to 70 which seems flat out but its to noisy until i have done the exhaust :D )Only other thing i had to do was fit a cone filter as the standrad air box will not fit as being a spec lift its got a large metal weight right where the air box fits..oh yeah and i had to cut the fan blades a bit as it hits the front crossmember.

As can been seen i fitted the mk5 doors and mirrors so i now got central locking and electric heated mirrors 8)
Image
Dash in proper now with no loose wires hanging everywhere..And if u look closely u can see the rev counter is working and lit up with blue bulbs..
Image
And the body is made by apex..
Image
Image
And so it looks smart in the dark,I got a few extra lights on it.
I also have done 1000 miles in it since putting the engine in..Couldnt believe i had done that much miles,But have been to birmingham twice and kings lynn so it soon racks up the miles..
.Hopefully we get some warmer weather soon so i can paint the outside of the spec lift..And maybe even fit mk5 front lights and bonnet.(anyone know how easy it is or someone who has done it post up a how to..)

Did you just swap the dash lamps out for blue ones?

I had a look but there looks to be a green filter on there so I guessed it wouldn't work.

Is it 'blue' blue? :?:

Lucas Laser 2000/IDS

95 Hallmark
96 150 100PS LWB Hi-Top
96 Autosleeper Duetto
06 Mk7 (scrap)
