Rover turbo

I know it wont be easy but the rover 2.0 turbo engine would be
nice to fit in the van. They kick out 197bhp standard and you can
pick up a whole car for under £300. If you knew what you were doing
you could have one in for under £1000. A fair bit cheaper than fitting
a cossie lump.

T16 turbo - ive got one in my mk1 escort 240BHP is easy to get - just wind the boost up. i did consider one for the tranny but to get it in the mk1 escort ive had to make my own bellhousing and use the type9, you can get an adapter plate to fit it to an mt75 not a transit one tho, but the input shaft wont be sitting very far in the crank bearing according to my measurments. My bellhousing is about 50mm shorter than standard also im using the xr4 box with the long i/p shaft!

also the dissy would be sticking through the bulkhead and would need the heater or the dissy removing - on my escort ive cut away the bulkhead and removed the heater

personally i cant see many advantages over the V6 24V prolly the only one is better mpg tho it was never brilliant in the rover!! but i reckon the torque of the V6 would suit the heavier van better!

I agree the v6 would be alot better but was just thinking this as a cheaper alternative. The 24v is a nice engine but when i had a 12v scorpio and had a go in the 24v one, there wasnt a great difference in performance. I think i'll have to stick with my tyre sreeding 76ps and be happy with what i got
