hi luke i live in carlisle cumbria. they both stick out i will take some pics tomorrow and post but it looks stupid my mate the engineer said make some fancy arches but not for me was wanting them looking factory. the adapter plates he made were maybe to thick but as he says dont want to compromise taking loads of them and they not being safe. we have looked into redrilling the backs look easy but have been told the fronts cant be done so unless anyone knows different please tell me :) also i can change wheels to 45 offset which will bring them in 10mm but they will still stick out 45mm so dont know what to do :?

my adapters are 20 or 25 cant remember :? but either way your not gonna get that much :(

i have looked at redrilling mk6 hubs and i think it can be done but its no where near as strait forward as all the others :)

i take it 50mm is 1 wheel not 25mm either side :?: just with you saying et45's will bring it in 10mm to 45mm :? surely that would be 40mm :?:

yes luke its 50mm each wheel so yes your right the different offset will make it 40mm still sticking past the arch. i will post pics tomorrow off the adapter plate and one wheel on just to show you. my mate was going to make a new hub rather than redrill for front but there is 10 holes on hub that cant be blocked and stopping the 112 pcd i need  i going to concentrate on getting it all painted and looking mint but will defo post some pics over the weekend so you can see how sh*t it looks now ha ha

well if your prepaired to do some serious messing about i'd think it can be done :D

i'm in the same boat with my van  viewtopic.php?f=13&t=23531 except its not a mk6

next step for you is take off the hub brake disk etc. and just bolt up the caliper then offer the wheel up in the correct position - check it doesnt foul the caliper before its under the arch  if it does (like mine did) you have big problems :(
but if you like a challange ..................

well thats the wheels on van. since i seen they stick out i got fed up and sold wheels just going to paint my steel wheels black against black bodywork i think to fit vw wheels to a mk6 you need to put wide arches on or buy a lot bigger offset. but anyone wanting adapter plates made for any transit just give me a shout thanks and will keep you updated with the rest of the van and more pics soon :D
