Re: VERY LOUD TRAIN HORNS help needed.

Postby nige » Sat Mar 21, 2009 7:57 pm

need help on what diodes to use.
i currently have my two horns plumbed into the same tank but i want to blast my horns individually and together.so i have got hold of some electronic air valves to do it.
i have drawn up a wiring diagram, which i think is correct. also a basic pic of what the setup is like.

i need to operate valves 1 and 2(horn1) seperatly to valves 1 and 3(horn2) aswel as being able to operate all the valves 1,2 and 3(both horns).see below

just wire them direct through the switch :D have you got them on a relay at all :?:

and how would you ideally want it 3 push buttons or 1 push button and a selecter switch 1/2/3

i have got a 4 way joystick switch kinda like an electric mirror switch. i want to opperate them of the one switch to be more user freindly and to have the different horn sounds directly after each other. i dont wont to flick different switches to alternate my horns. what i want is for eg. one switch with 4 positions up is one horn down is the other and left or right is both horns. the switch i have is a push to make then it returns to brake in each direction

looks like it would work :D its not drawn right but i assume the wire coming out to the right of valve 2 and 3 is linked to the +12v going in then :D

top switch would operate all the valves
2nd one operates 2 and 1
btm one operates 3 and 1
