Here's what my van has:

As you can see, just a hole and a connector which has two wires going to it. Can I just connect an LED across these wires? Does it need to be a '12V' led or has it got a resistor somewhere in the pats box?

why not just go and buy the correct part?

It comes in the black surround and will fit the hole as intended

I'm just curious as to why it's not there.
I thought I'd just stick an LED in there to test it first. I'd certainly want the right part if it does work.

everytime i go to the scrappy i wear socks that go up to my knee's it's amazing how many free parts you can get biggest so far being rear light cluster
