Anybody, can you HELP. "A" series VAN ?

Postby john leeman » Mon Apr 20, 2009 6:19 pm

Following discussions on here, can anybody through any light on these van's. They where made in the early 80s, Ford made the chassis cowl then they went north to willenhall, west midlands for the van body to be built on. Just a huge Transit to luck at, They had a 6cyl YORK diesel engine and where a A0609, the petrol 3ltr v6 version was a A0610. Also what happened to the "A" series artic, just like an artic of today only 1/2 size, they where AA0609 or petrol AA0610, wonder hov many of them they sold. Your thoughts would be welcome. John L.

The one I was talking about is a massive steel panel van.

Thanks FMC, the van was basicely the same as the ambulance control vehicle, in a slab sided van version. Its that van version that has got us all twittering. John L.

Have never seen this before, I'm assuming the van body was similar to the iveco ford 6512 body that was sold
here in the late eighties:

Closest I can find to anything similar on the A-series ford is;

It seems not many of these A-series vechicles were ever made.

There are also some videos on youtube for this vehicle:
