Wheel Nuts

OK, I feel like a wheel nut asking this, but.....

I have just fitted my new (used) 14" Ford OEM alloy wheels on my 1996 Torneo but they won't tighten properly, there is still play between the wheel and the hub. The nuts I used were those that attached he steel wheels.

Now, my mechanical brain (numpty, in other words) tells me that this logically means that alloys use different wheel nuts. Am I correct??

The alloy wheel nuts are different.

if you go to fords you should be able to get locking ones :wink:
You only need two tools in life: WD-40 and Duct Tape. If it doesn't move and it should, use WD-40. If it moves and shouldn't, use the duct tape.

I'd try you local wheel place as I paid 30p each for the last set of 20 alloy wheel nuts I bought.

you can get them cheeper than fords try rally design they stock just about every different nut going!!

If you mean the wheels I got one off Ebay, the other 3 off Rover.
