What about spacers or would that be to much strain on the bearings?

spacers would put more strain on the bearings but so do wide wheels - a small price you have to pay for style

i think spacers would look better than none but you can't beat a nice deep dish 8)

next time i've got a wheel off i'll have a look see what can be done  i'm interested in this sort of thing - i dont have access to the machinery to make some banded wheels but i wonder if you could get some cheep wellers knock the middles out and weld in the transit ones :? obviously the rim would have to be the same dia, just something to think about :D
easy enough to fit the wheels you have and if you can get hold of some mefcos or mod some some way then swap them later - painting some wheels doesnt look like it'd take you long

The old underseal can hide alot of rust but yes I want to paint the whole of the underneath with Gold to and use all stainless nuts and bolts 8)

Just seen an advert for this company in Practical Classics Mag, along with the quote: "All wheels are pressure tested, ready for paint and are road legal"
