Hi Top Windows

Postby Harley Camper » Mon Jul 06, 2009 8:09 pm

Well soon be off for our hols for the first time in the makeshift camper but herself has asked to darken out the Hi top windows so the sunlight dont wake her up. I tried using that darkened cling film stuff the boy racers use but as one of my windows is perspex (dont ask!) does not seal and has loads of bubbles. If I strip this off again can anyone advice something even paint orientated that would be suitable. Thanks

This might sound crazy, but I was thinking the same thing as your wife  But I also thought of a possible solution - you know those curtains on roll you can get from Homebase (or B&Q) and cut them to size? I was thinking these could be fitted in a way that the sides of the curtain would be imbeded into those plastic courtain rails fitted on the sides of the curtain (sort of like the expensive Velux curtain do). It would look neat and always stay in place and seal the window completely. Only thing I didn't work out is how to keep them in the place at the bottom of the curtain itself... :?

Sheer brilliance mate :o but I have an issue with fixing the rails as only thin fibrglass top and dont want holes through it. Does anyone know if there is available a suitable window tinting paint? :D

Try the foil bubble stuff that we've just used for insulation. I saw some pics somewhere where a guy had done all his own window blinds with it?

We bought two foil sun visors for our side windows and cut them down a bit. They come ready with window suckers???
