standard parts :? you know me - i like to mess  i really like the idea of the mk6 servo as it'll give me room for the plenum (wish i'd not cut it up   )

just topped the diff up with oil and friction modifier (new one on me but LSD needs must) just waiting for the flexi hose to arrive then i can go for a blast 8) 8)

also managed to get some lwb 6 stud calipers - tried one on today and it fits on the 5 stud hub and the wheel goes over 8) so i ordered some 15" disks and pads - not sure if they will be here before the weekend but if i get chance they'll be on for gaydon, i just got standard cheepo disks and pads while i'm still not 100% sure it'll all fit - if all goes to plan i'll swap them for some uprated ones :D

Progress is good 8) 8) 8)

got the disks pads and flexi hose - fitted them all to one side and it works 8) 8) Gaydon here we come

heres some pics of the 6 stud disk and caliper fitted to the 5 stud hub :D

i've only done 1 side but i took it for a short run to test and it did pull to that side under brakeing so it would appear to work - i'll get the other side fitted tomorrow :D

(P.S. Is the caliper as close to the hub as it looks?)

cheers guys :D

got the other side brake fitted today and been out for a run - all is good 8)

it looks closer than it is in that pic but it's close - shouldn't be much of a problem as it's the carrier so it wont move (obviouly) but i cant see it getting as hot as the actual caliper and expanding into the hub :) but i'll keep an eye on it anyway :D

made it to gaydon and back 8)

pics here of a superb weekend 8)

not without a few hassles  it now wont start when it's hot on the way down i filled it up and had to get a push in the petrol station  and then the c/c cable came undone and it stook on full throttle on the M40 (honest officer  ) so i had to switch the engine off and pull onto the hard shoulder - sorted no problem but it wouldnt re start  so i ended up bumping it backwards as there was a slight incline :) got there in the end

i had the sat nav so i could check a few things - 1st the speedo reads low showing 62mph is actually 70mph
but with the new 3.77 diff @ 2000 rpm in 5th is 48mph
and @3000rpm is 73mph 8)
so if i can manage 6000rpm i should be doing 146mph

i would say the diff ratio is about spot on for a 24v V6 it now uses 1st to pull off and cruises well on the motorway - and it's quiet as a mouse 8) ................. transit diffs who needs em

i've now got a week before ford fair to get it all running fine agian - i'd like to fit the new clutch i've got but not sure if i'll get good enough weather :?

Can't wait until you defy the laws of aerodynamics at 146mph. I reckon you can do it!!!

got some seats today off ssauk :D thanks Daz top man 8) 8)

so far i've not bolted them in as we'll be sleeping in the van for ford fair this weekend but this is how they will look :D

Image

and i'm gonna make some sort of hinged base for the single so i can access the back - like this :D

Image

i'm also gonna have them so i can unbolt them when i go drag racing

also i took bigmastifs advice and got some meguiars NXT polish for the rusty side pipe :D

Image

at 1st it looked like it wasnt working and after about 5-10 mins polishing i left it but when i stood back it'd made a big difference 8) in hindsight i wish i'd used this when they were new :|
so i'll give it another going over, and might get it something like but long term i'd like to have a pair of covers made in stainless :D

made it to ford fair and back without any major problems

did 2 sprints on the 0-60 and did 8.87 secs both times :o 8)

better than 9.36 that i did last year but still room for improvment as they tyres spin up bad when i set off but now with the new axle i wasnt spinning them on the gear changes - also i started off in 1st both runs :D

my mate Ian took some videos but this is about the best one
