The vent in the Gas-Box MUST be in the floor as Propane is heavier than air...

Yeah, cheers Captain Hook.... but I still cant drill any holes in the floor of my van until the new gas proof/ burn proof floor is put into the kitchen unit/gas box and the whole unit is bolted down cos I need all the holes to line up..... So its one of the last jobs to get done that's all.... Its all to do with the regulations..... ...... :D ......

Ah... Cheers Ake... didn't know its proper name... A drop hole..... :D ....

I think I saw some Leisure Regulations stating that it must be 100mm2 or something... or perhaps that was just commercial?

I'll have a look Monday to see what they state unless you know the Regs of the top of your head Ake?

Cheers Guys.... :D ...

I don't have a regs book to hand but 100mm2 sounds about right :)

Cheers Ake... :D ...

I do seem to remember something from when I built the gas door... because I only put vents in the top of my door not in the top and the bottom I think the regs said to put a specific size type of drop vent... and I think its the large 100mm2 or multiple smaller drop vents that make up to 100mm2....

Cheers guys...

Had a go with fitting the interior recessed LED lighting today.

I got them from Ikea. They are the normal white ones not the 7 colour changeable ones that I was originally going to get.

http://www.ikea.com/gb/en/catalog/products/30119408

Thought id be sensible and boring and stick with plain white.

They were originally 240v but I stripped them from the transformer and added some 12v resistors. I bought the Ikea ones instead of the cheaper Ebay/Chinese ones because they came with all the cabling, quick connectors and mounting brackets...... they were also in the used/damaged/returns bargain corner at Ikea Brizol for a fiver each.... :D .. Bargain....

But I still reckon the 7 colour changable ones would be cool..... 8) ... ... I think they call that mood lighting... ..

They are recessed into some wood panels that fits between the top of the cupboards and the roof.

All I have to do now is cover the LED panelled wood with the same grey carpet as the rest of the van and hopefully the LED's will look recessed/flush.

Cheers guys....

The leds will look good in the dark, I've got some similar in the back of my van they are surprisingly bright, plus they don't drain the battery :D

Cheers Ake, I was hoping they'd be bright enough in the dark to see by, but not too bright to be uncomfortable as I have another very bright interior light for that.

I just hoped they would be half decent brightness and very low power usage..

And I should be able to see what im doing when im still building my van in the winter months........ ....

Cheers guys,

I've been gassing up the stainless kitchen unit lately.

Thought id gas it all up whilst the unit is out of the van and then re-install it all ready to work.

Started off building a 5 branch manifold with a main control tap.

The 5 branches are for the: 1 - Hot Water, 2 - Hot Air, 3 - Cooker, 4 - Grill, 5 - Fridge.

Image

It'll fit in a stainless section which will be bolted to the kitchen unit later on.

Image

At the moment im still in the middle of putting a plain hinged flap on the front so all you would normally see is the single main control tap until the flap is lifted and then the rest of the controls can be accessed.

Image

The whole unit will then fit just above the fridge and under the sink.

Image

I'll get this little bit finished then I'll run the rest of the gas lines to the separate gas appliances, shouldn't take long..

Cheers Guys.......
