You can have the engine and gearbox out of my Tourneo for £175 delivered.

I'm using the Tourneo everyday, you're welcome to take it for a drive or

ask anybody to check it out before I remove it....

Nadjenka - I'd give you an engine if I had one lying around doing nothing.

Unfortunately I don't, so all I can say is don't give up - Lola WILL live again, and your friends on here will help make sure of it.

No more tears soldier!!

Unfortunately, despite a recent full service which included the cambelt, it does appear that the engine crankshaft is seized solid  :(

Can not work out where the source of the oil leak is (yet), but I suspect it's to do with the vacuum pump  (as it looks as though it's been spraying it around)

Whatever the problem was, it will definitely need an engine :!:

Thank you everyone! I'm starting to see it in colours again, I can't express how much your support hepls!!! AndyG has arrived and spent soooo much time here, even though it didn't bring Lola back to life, it certailnly brought back some smiles to my face as it gave me a clear idea what has to be done to get Lola on the road again. We did this to her, and looked right inside her searching for an answer why it has happened:

Image

Althrough we did not find the answer for "WHY" it has happened, at least it's confirmed that the engine is seized. :( But - the challenge is on, 10 days to do it should be enough to get it moving (or towing) to Transitmania, it's worth a try. I am just increasingly worried that if I do make it to Billing, I'll have to bring a trailer full of beer as a thanks for all of your never ending support and help! :D Thank you all once again, I will not give up yet! :D

Andy thanks for coming, I'm sure - as you said - the mystery will be resolved once we take the engine out. Can't wait to get the answer to "WHY" (note - it's not "why-God-why" anymore... ).

might have been the seals in the vac pump leaking spraying the oil round - then the subsiquent loss of pressure and driving for those few minutes siezed it up :( impossible to tell unless the engines running - if you wanted to know for sure you could fit that alt & pump to the new engine and watch it - just be carefull

if you cant get the job done put the engine in the back and tow it to transitmania we'll all chip in and get it fitted and running - just let us know so someone can bring an engine crane  :D

Yes, engine crane (if that is the same thing as "hoist" - pardon if I spelled it wrong) - that's what I'm trying to find now. I'm sure one of the mechanics up the road here will have one, I'll go and check with them as that would make it much easier. I hope I can get it exchanged as soon as possible really as I have no other wheels at the mo (car still back home  ). Imagine me coming to Billing by foot pulling my Lola behind me  Well if I start walking tomorrow...........

If it needs to go to Billing (NOT under its own power), post the GVW here and I'll double check we have a trailer that can take it & if so (don't think it'll be a problem) ,I'll take it up for you. !
I got a little black book with me poems in

Terry

Given that my van was converted in the same manor, and that is 2,000 kg with me a full tank of fuel and a substantial tool kit I would think Nadas van should weigh less.

Hi MM
Since all the posting about towing & trailers on here I have been doing some checking. My 90T350 goes 2200 kgs at the roadside. GTW is 5000kgs
which obviously leaves me with 2800 kgs. BUT the trailers don't seem to carry anything like the weights I thought they did.
My Brian James Clubman Tiltbed , I THOUGHT took about 1500 kgs but no.
Image
Thats this trailer.
Image
My other Brian James, again I thought it was 2800 kgs .
Image
Not that I would get a tranny in it.Its a BJ but built in Spain, so not sure what the plate means EXACTLY
Image
A friends PRW, I haven't managed to get an 'in focus' photo of the plate, so not sure about it.
Image
Another Brian James I could use ........looks like 1000 kgs !
Image
This one, but I would have to take the tyre rack off to get a tranny on, IF it could take the weight.
Image.
Which just leaves the other BJ I haven't got any info on, someone else had borrowed it when I was checking them,
but it looks a bit beefier, its an 'A' series reckon it goes about 800kgs and 2500 max.
Image
You MAY have noticed they ALL have my registration on them, thats because I keep forgetting to take it off & the others don't remind me,...................... so I cop the speeding ticket
