MAJOR MK4 REBUILD

well it all started with a swop, ldv for a k reg transit!, 3 weeks of welding, new wings/arch's /inner wings/change doors for mk5,why all the hard work?,I love my smilly face and my quest to build a beaver tail with ali truck sides so i have the best of both!.
this one was a minger, the old owner (ground worker) had used and abused it!!,well i got it through the mot!!,now its time to start on the cab,see photoes,im new so the pics jump in after the mot.

well thats it so far its time to do some rust treatment !! im painting the dash and respraying the inside.

Thanks for the intrest, well gave the back of the cab a libral dose of rust eater last night(expected a pile of rust in the morning insted of a cab!! :D ) manidged to mask up tonight and give it a quick coat of white primer

metioned to mrs last night was thinking of spraying the cab a nice matalic stone gray id seen on a 08 transit,and it would only cost another £50 for the paint,wish id never said anything! after id picked her off the cealing!!,so now she thinks its going to stay white :lol: ,me thinks she's in for a susprise??!.
keep you all posted (do thay have broudband in hospital?!!)

well spent some time over the weekend doing a bit more (between the bournemouth air show!).
sprayed the dash

sprayed the back of the cab

took the bed off and scrubed the headlinning (wow was that minging!)

fitted the wireing for the alarm and hands free all joints soldered of course (nothing worse then a alarm that keeps going off for no reason!,usaly becuse you used those lazy squese together conectors!!)

then backin with the dash

and then finaly for today the head linning! :)

:lol: :lol: :lol: You know - the trick is to find a paint that costs £150 and then tell her you are "saving" a £100 by going for the one for £50... When women go shopping, they go there to "save" money rather than "spend"... :wink:

BTW - great job! Going fast too. :D

well back again with todays pics!,fitted my pride and joy! a new mat!!

what a diferance??.£27 of e-bay!,and the good thing is when i unraped it there was 2!!,so i sold the other to my nabour for £20!yes!
then it was on to the dash conected stereo and hands free up,striped and cleaned clocks amd refitted(with all the bulbs working!)painted cowling got to make a trip to the scrap yard to get a lower colum plastic as the dog chewed it!!

got to take the seats to a mates to be reupholstered some time but cant make up my mind wether to do that first or take it to the body shop for painting?!!(need drivers seat to drive it!!)keep u posted

ON THE SAT,PARKED OUT A BIT AND WALKED IN THROUGH THE GARDENS.
well its ready for the paint shop,just waiting for my mate to ring when he's ready,had to put the old seats backin today as iv got to pick up some steel bar so i can crack on with getting ready to build the bed.

:arrow: well sorry for the wait, been doing other things!not much happend on the project, "plan" to do a little today so will take photoes and post tonight.
paint is paid for! :D ,spent a few weeks trying to get the paint code for the new coluer i wont, its a new ford coluer like a metalic slate gray.also been trying to sorse some cheep box section to make the winch mounting plate, with the plate the overall hight has to be 3" the same as the ali C section that is used on the bed. :? ,
Im thinking about a hydrolic winch anyone know if a 12v tipper pump would work it?
