="Luidog"]This is amazing I have had one of these for about 3 months now and wondered all the same things???
Mine is a MKIII with a 2.0L Petrol engine and 5 speed manual box.
It still has the original brown stripe trim and pretty much the same interior layout except mine has the Paloma boiler over the cooker (which has just been sent off for exchange).
It has suffered some frost damage as I have already replaced the heater matrix, now the Paloma boiler, its had a new cylinder head also so there is a trend there somewhere.
For a 1988 van it is in remarkable condition and I have already been on 8 camping trips and loving every minute.
I have just ordered a new twin choke Weber carb kit as the original VV carb is falling to bits and needs a date with a skip ASAP. Never dreamed there was a shower tray under that
carpet, amazing, but will answer all those questions regarding the ceiling clips etc?? I still have the original shower hose and tap but thought it was for back door showers on quiet
sites ha ha!!!
Does anyone know who converted them from factory and where they were done? And is the company still in business, mine only done 66,000 miles and in amazing condition, would
be great to see others on the road!![/quote]
