steel bulkhead

does anyone know if the steel bulkhead in my ex BT mk5 N reg will fit in a mk6

Looked at loads of X, Y & onwards models but not yet seen any with this type of bulkhead fitted, so wanted to know if I could 'transplant' my old one.

if you steel bukhead is the original ford one you should be able to make it fit but it wont be an easy bolt in job, you will need to make your own brackets and top part to match you vans shape.

they are quite different - true you could make it fit but for the hassle involved personally (and i dont mind hassle ) i'd buy a mk6 one!!
my local commercial breakers sells them for £40 but he never has any in! we paid £60 ish off ebay for one, but same old story once we had one they were all coming up closer and for less

They are definately different 'cause the mk6 has got a moulded section for the drivers seat which also makes the the baulkhead handed

and also you will need 12 i think captive nuts - cos yours wont have them - and you need to move the passangers seat forward to the front mountings so you will need a torx bit

well - sounds like a right load of messing so for £60 I'll get a mk6 bulkhead.

I have a new 06 reg transit SWB 280 and I'm going to remove the steel bulkhead.
