Squeaking noise question

Postby chippy » Sat May 20, 2006 10:21 am

I have had my Transit for 2 months and am very pleased with it, however recently when starting from cold , the engine is very squeaky which when warmed up would stop. Today when driving the van the sqeak was there when cold , but when warmed up i could still here it slightly, but it was very faint. Any ideas what this could be? Any suggestions would be very much appreciated. The van is a T90 350 durashift and has done 40k.

Check the fan belt for tension, look to see if there is any oil on it.

I think this could be the cam belt tensioner bearing? When was the lat cam belt change? If it was a while ago, change the cam belt and the tensioner. Kits are around the £70 mark.

any more ideas on this? My van is also making the squeaking noise...more frequently now. Sounds like something needs tightening or something....

To make sure that this was the problem he sprayed a tiny amount of oil on it, and the squeak stopped. Not advisable i know. I just need to find the adjustment for the belt.
Does anyone know if Haynes do a manual for a 01 T90 350 or similar?
