Intermittent power loss

I have a 1998 swb ex british gas van, has done 125,000 miles and i keep it well maintained, it has recently devoloped a problem, when i am cruising along a fast road at a constant speed it will lose power, only running at about half the normal power! to fix the problem i have to floor it for a few seconds and that seems to clear the problem. Sometimes this will happen 4 or 5 times in one journey and other times it won't happen for a couple of weeks. I have recently given it a full service with new fuel filter and regularly drain the water trap. and i have modded the fuel pump and erg but this was happening before aswell. hope someone can help, thanks.

there is a fuel filter on the end of the pick up inside the tank on some transits....also check the fuel filter is mounted correctly..

Have had the same problem with mine for 4 years. Doesn't help if I floor it, I just have to pull over (esp. when it gets down to 30mph on a motorway!), switch off for a few mins, start again. It might or might not go, but it does eventually Can behave itself for most of a year, and then not. Heyho. Be interesting to hear if it is the fuel filter, but I ain't dropping the tank in mine just yet
