Oh and a block of wood in case the ground is soft, wheel chocks - you can use wood (more used for trailers though), a tow rope, LED headtorch, shovel, broom, work gloves, rags, paper towel, water, ice scraper, spare bulbs & fuses.
Small toolbox with basics like spanners, few sockets, tape, cable ties, screwdrivers, torx bits, adjustable wrench, pliers, knife etc is useful too
Also if you breakdown in a dangerous place or have to change an offside wheel right next to traffic you can get the police/HATO to come out and warn traffic, that's what we pay them for
