Yes it has the doors lock but the lights don't flash so i don't think its working properly
if that part of the alarm is not working will it stop the hooter from working

almost all vans from 2000 onwards have remote central locking, but very few have alarms! Are you sure yours has a factory fitted one??

I dont recall the lights flashing on the 55 and 06 plate I used to drive when locking remotely

The indicators flash when you press the button twice to dead lock it

I can't imagine a locking fault would stop the horn working...

I have a feeling the reverse lights share the horn switch (but I may be thinking about a different variant) do they work?

Hi, as far as I know the horn is independant to everything else, its fuse and realy are both in the engine compartment fuse box:

Fuse number F1.7 (blue 15A), Relay K33.

Image

If this fuse is OK, then get someone to press the horn switch whilst you listen for a click from the relay, if it clicks, suspect the horn is faulty. If it dosent click, or the fuse is blown then another wiring fault may be present [including any of the following, bad earth to horn, bad earth or connection on horn switch(via airbag rotary connector), wiring short /open circuit between cab to fuse box and fuse box to horn, internal wiirng fault between fuse and relay].

As for indicators, as stated earlier not all vans had alarms, so if your doors lock / unlock ok with remote, i'd personally leave well alone! if security is an issue, have an aftermarket alarm fitted.

Hope this is of some help,
Regards,
Andy

if the vans not deadlocking(try it by operating each inside handle when locked to identify which one) then it most probly one of door mechanisms, is it single or crewcab tipper :?:

the alarm prob needs the deadlock indicator to give its signal to arm.
