Click on the user control panel then edit profile enter your location and press submit.

Just looking back have you done the things that was wrong with nadjenka's van :?: check the fuses first then follow what sidspop said that makes sense

I would come and take a look but im a bit far away and I couldnt guarantee I could fix it :!:

Hi Wendy,

once again - sorry for hijacking your post, but it did seem to be the same problem as you had - battery didn't charge and I ended up with non starter Transit! Yes, I think I'm very lucky that AndyG is relatively close to my work and that he can stand the stream of words and nonsence my mouth can produce  and still be willing to help for coffee and some chocolate... I don't know what would I do without the help from this forum and people on it :!:

But for the subject - I'm sure there is someone close to you that can help you. For the mean time, here is a list of things that you can check yourself, and make sure they work:

1. Bulbs - I don't know if these are the same on yours, but my tacho needed this kind
Image

but it could look like this too I think... :?
Image

2. Fuses - next to the right foot under the dashboard - I had fuse no 6 blown and later I managed to blow no 11 too! Can't tell if your's is the same, but apparently no 6 is the one operating the battery warning light. 11 is the fuse for my tacho on Lola. Number 6 is not marked in the fusebox :!:

3. Plugs and connections - this is where I'm lost like you. Here is a picture of main plug (not from my van, as this is much tidier  ), mine appeared to be connected, but it wasn't :!: Andy said it needs to click and twist to be plugged in properly!
Image

Try it, I hope it helps :!:

hi
me again.

i charged the battery and next day it was fine and the van started. day after, flat, so it seemed. put charger on and went from half charged to full in a few mins. van started fine. next day, van wouldnt start. do i need to take it for a long drive to get it going or wouldnt tht matter? do i need a new battery? do i need to sell the van and buy a go-cart?

any ideas?

also still not got electrics to main dash..eg oil and battery lights, speedo etc. have got electrics to heater and radio. checked battery connections and all fuses.

still sounds like your alternators not charging you need to get a multimeter to test it In your earliar you said you tried nadjenkas but it seemed you misunderstood she was pointing at have another look at that.

That's right. Have the same problem as Wendy except my battery didn't run flat yet.

ive still got the battery and oil light problem, they dont light up when ignition is on, but the actual battery is fine. i disconnected all new wiring and the van starts every day. but if i just connect the wires to the cams, battery goes flat again and wont charge til i disconnect the wires. ( the wires thing is not connected to the battery/ oil light thing. 2 different issues i think)

Have you checked the bulbs for the oil and battery lights ? And the general condition of the wiring behind the dash, is everything looking ok ?

happy new year everyone.

ive not had a look at the van for a while, its been too cold. but will check all the bulbs in the dash when it gets a bit warmer.

feeling quite despondent about it really. i like things to just "work".

Doesn't sound like an alternator problem to me then.

Anyway, with the cameras disconnected, are the oil and battery lights illuminating during start up or are they still dead?

In any case, it looks as though there is a problem with the wiring for the cameras. Is your screen in place of the head unit and using the radio wiring loom or is it seperate and wired independantly?

Do you have any info on the cameras? Make, model, etc? If I know these, I can draw you up a wiring diagram.
