135bhp transit diesel knock and smokes very badly HELP??

hi can any one help , bought 135bhp 6 speed 05 plate transit non runner i was told it need new high presure pump (had been to couple of garages and been checked over ) To cut long story short bought knew pump and fitted still did not run so investigated further and found timing had jumped and broke rocker housing and bent valves . Fitted new head from ford with new timing chain and guids and crank sensor ,(already had new fuel filter housing and cam sensor fitted by garages) re programed injectors to cylinders. Van will start but very harsh diesel knock and smokes very badly also cuts out after 3-5 seconds but starts up straight away, also glow plug light flashes , i have 2 codes p1211 injection control presure, and p0251 fuel metering .please can any one help spent lots and getting know where fast ?????????????????

how did you set the timing up, are you sure its right

The head was of so set no 1 piston at tdc and bolted degree gauge to crank and set pointer at 0 then turn back 50 and pinned cams all set perfect , just got home from van been working on all day again i removed solinoid /meter of the new high presure pump today and fitted one of old pump now starts and runs no smoke , a little lumpy on tick over will rev out and sounds nice , but as soon as you drive up road thers is a slight diesel knock and goes in to limp mode , it throws up 1 code know which i think is presure sensor on common rail , dont know what to do as you cant buy sensor on its own you ve got to buy complete rail at £230 od pound plus vat and im not convinced this will work?????????

i no how you feel ive a 135 ,camshaft carrier broke twice now,rebuilt it ran for a week ,stopped and still not running,been about 10 weeks now,(another story)
fuel rail sensor just got a new one myself

when the fuel pump goes it quite often takes the injectors with them, did you have them checked when you rebuilt the engine,if not have them cleaned and inspected, approx £100 for the set,

coconut and winterheating, are usaly along a bit later they should be able to help

No hav nt had them checked yet , would like to try common rail sensor first but cant find any one with same van sensor at mo going to speak to local diesel specialist tommorrow to see if he can get sensor and how much to check injectors , dont want to spend £230 odd quid for no reason All so will be speaking to supplier of new pump with F----D sensor and see what he has to say , after many hours of head scratching.

your right to be cautious came up code for my rail sensor i got one didnt do me any good, thats after i had new injectors, do a update if you get it sorted, mines still not running

ive got a 135 2004 mate.same story.just replaced -EGR VALVE-IAT VALVE-CRANK SENSOR-AIRFLOW METER-4 NEW INJECTORS-RIAL PRESSURE VALVE(TRANSTPARTS .CO.UK -£20 NOT £230 LIKE FORD.THEY WONT SELL IT SEPPERATE) IM still getting MIL light flashing with same codes as you.mines runs great now upto 65mph then goes to get home mode,next im of to ford.if that doesnt work im gony buy a bike!
