whats this then?

Postby bouncymat » Sun Jan 10, 2010 5:37 pm

just been poking about in the back of my van and i have found this above the wheel arch in the back on the drivers side.
Image
the van is a mk6 125t280 lx

i would be particularly interested to find out if it carries power, a signal to indicate if the engine is running/the doors are open.

many thanks

Not a clue.

But 7 pins. Possibly for a factory fit towbar?

What I meant was that the loom has the connections should the original buyer have wanted a Ford towbar fitted. I'm sure Ford would have made such a thing plug and play rather than hard wired for the sake of ease in fitting.

A towbar and electrics was an option from the factory so it's conceivable that there should be a plug somewhere for the towbar's electrics.

the pins look too small to cary enough current to be tow bar electrics

12N electrics don't draw any more current than normal lighting circuits.

It probably isn't anyway. I just guessed based on the 7 pins.

drivers sld sounds most possible to me - i checked and there is a conection on the other side which is in use (didn't have time to check if they are the same or not)

so would that just be central locking then?

thanks
