Confronted the dealer & the mechanic,
as the warranty is with the RAC its been decided to call them in for the inspection as to what’s happened,

From what I can understand the RAC send out an independent adviser who checks the damage and makes a report back to the RAC, then the RAC makes the decision if its covered by warranty or if the mechanic is at fault.

And this can take up to two weeks or more, the vans already been off the road for at least 7 weeks.

I just need the van back on the road A S A P ,
I’m self employed and this hire van is killing my business, I’ve taken a friend to see the damage and he reckons another cylinder head fitted will solve the problem and he could do the work for £100 cash if we can get one, contacted a few breakers and they said it’s the same engine as the mondeo 2.0 tdci which I can get for £150 + vat.

Is this true, if so I can get one from my local breakers,

Thanks for all your help on this

the mondeo heads are made for injector nozzles of only 21mm instead of the longer transit ones.
