thanks; with everything out it comes in at 3100kg and is taxed hgv put in higher diff now it will run all day on m/way at 85- 90 and still has more to go.

3100kgs is the max loaded weight and it shouldn't need to be taxed as a HGV.

Not being an ex Police van it won't Mike.

They are spec'd up to about 4250kg GVW due to the bullet proof armour plating :wink: That alone weighs almost a ton :!:

That would be a 230 though not a 150.

Easy way to tell though, is it a Twin Wheel Hi-Cube?

I thought the gross vehicle weight of a 150 was 3300kg.

GBBiker, the plod often did have them, but being law abiding they were 230's (as MrMPuk says) not 150s!


Just a thought vinny, have you got that 3100kg fiigure from the vin plate in the passenger footwell?

Some forces had 150s with the single rear wheels and had them uprated accordingly, hence the HGV tax band.

2" armour to sides 5 layer windscreen 2" armour floor, wheels run flats + rims 1" wider clutch to edge of flywheel (£ 450 for clutch) springs 100% bigger anti roll bars front and back, lexan side windows 25% extra boost on turbo 2300 revs 55 mph in 5th .3100kg weighbridge weight empty done for dvla to get hgv tax off but they said no
