trip to ibiza

Hey folks, im looking for some tips and advice. Im talking my van out to ibiza from glasgow, twice. the start of july and the start of august. on the outward journeys its going to be loaded up. so im looking for some advice, pointers on what checks would be recommended before setting off on the journeys, whats worth carrying with me should anything happen, although my insurance has euro cover. i dont mind getting dirty and doing it myself, i need to save a few quid. the van has just passed its mot.
any advice much appreciated.

make sure you have diesel

Check your fluids, tyre pressures, wheel nuts etc? Check them during your journey too.

Make sure you have all the right emergency equipment for the countries you'll be going through.

diesel , hehe, yep thatll be handy. when i had the mot done the guy had mentioned checking timing, diff fliud, gearbox fluid, are these necessary and easy enough to do myself. nuts , tyres, water, oil yep on the list.
anything else that should be on my list of to do's before and during the trip ?
