leaf spring mot failure

had an mot failure on `nearside rear leaf spring longtitudinally displaced`.

Does this mean its knackered ?

If yes is it an easy bolt off bolt on change and are they standard parts ?

Anyone got one or know of a supplier round Birmingham way ?

Longitudinally displaced?

Sounds like it's come out of it's shackle, or one of the shackles has broken. Maybe due to the rubber perishing.

Take a look at the spring, I think it means that some of the leafs are rotating out of alignment.

If they have they should just be re-aligned, did this to a spring with a sledge hammer last time. Be warned it may need every thing loosening off first.

Loosen shackle bolts, then hammer all the leaves into line. Then retighten up shackle bolts. Job done.
