turning a swb into a swb hi-top?

i want to know if its possible - edit that - SAFE to chop out the top of a low top transit and somehow put a hightop roof in - has it been done etc
or can you somehow put in one of those pop-up roofs on campervans

Its perfectly acceptable so long as you put in the reinforcing hoops the go inside the roof

so is it just as simple as grinding off the top and bolting or welding the new one in place - jobs a good un

I'd leave the cab roof intact for extra strength
Then this can also form a shelf

the high top just bonds onto the roof gutters with the hoops bolt onto a bit on the sides of the van and also are bonded to the glassfibre roof..there is quite a bit of strength in the sides of a transit van..
