SWB transit day van TAKE 2

Postby spudmab » Sun Apr 18, 2010 3:48 pm

well everyone its happened, i have just picked up a Nreg smile SWB std hight transit,

quite nice but needs some work, will put pics up later or tomorrow need some time to get it home and give it a wash,

could do with front wings and rear arches, but the main problem is its had a hit in the side, so new door and a bit of work is needed to the step inside the sliding door,

its only got 2 owners from new, 132.000 miles and its mot till sept 2010, so all in all not bad

roll on tomorrow so the modds can start

well i have started to mess around with the van today,

i have cut the side out and fitted a window,

me and my nephews have also pulled out all the inside of the van, the front seats the floor mat and the trim pices,

then we cleaned the mess that was under the mat, washed everything and fitted it all back in,

it looks really nice now, still need to do the outside but tomorrows another day,

just got back for the local scrappy, had a good wonder around and came away with some bits,

i got-

central locking motors with all the wiring,
a left hand battery tray,
a set of clocks with rev counter
and a side door bottem runner to replace mine,

all in all not bad for £30.00

Well I have been doing things on my van over the last few days, the main thing was to try and fix the damage on the left hand side I have pulled most of it out now just to try and make it look ok,

To day I got the van taxed and i'm out and about in it, I went to the breakers yard, and got a side door for £20.00, and it’s a bit better,

I also got a power steering rack and pump setup, for £20.00, and a CD radio player with an iso lead for £20.00,

The last thing I done was go and get a mat black sun strip fitted and it’s made the van so much nicer when driving in this sun.

I have won some bits on eBay but I will show them when I have collected them,
