That would be far too unOrdinary! Apart from that, I'd rather not have to deal with a wheel trim while trying to change a wheel on a cold, dark, rainy night - which is when it always happens, isn't it?

Election Day Update

The day ended in confusion ...

Why does the parts department of a major commercial vehicle dealership not stock those orange-tinted capless bulbs?

The workshop replaced the drive shaft oil seal and as it turned out, the oil drain pipe from the turbo and not the feed pipe as previously advised by the service desk. It was ready by 1300. I'll keep an eye on the seal for the next few weeks to see if it stays dry.

Regarding the other event of the day ...

It looks as if the Ordinary Van [x] split the national vote, resulting in a 'hung' Parliament. Thanks to all who voted - I'm expecting the call from Downing Street any time now.

Election Day Final

Confusion remains on the subject of the orange-tinted capless bulbs but the new seal seems to be OK so far. Let's see if it will hold together over the next few months ...

In spite of its huge popular mandate (of 29,653,638* votes cast, 2 votes were for the Ordinary Van [x] - thanks to madmark_50484 and ake), there was no summons to Downing Street for the Ordinary Van, although one post remained to be filled:

Life gets back to Ordinary

After the excitement of last week ... something else to add to the spares kit (viewtopic.php?p=459492#p459492), along with the orange-tinted capless bulbs:



This rubber buffer is clipped onto the left door striker to prevent damage if this happens:



The other day, while climbing into the van, I must have caught the edge of the buffer on my jacket because I later found it on the ground behind the van. I could easily have driven away without it, had I not noticed.

Note to self: time to wash the van again, now the plumbing for the new pressure washer is completed.

I guess that makes Mk7 the Official Opposition, along with a few Mk1, Mk2, Mk3 and Mk4 as independents, nationalists, etc. However, we should end the metaphor there as there are plenty of other forums available for political discussion!
