Can anyone enlighten me as to how the Transits operated by many of the utility companies run onboard compressors and generators? Are they powered by the vehicle engines or do they have a seperate motor? And where would I get hold of such a set? I could really do with onboard power and air but would prefer it to be an integral part of the vehicle so it's one less item to be carried around in the loadspace.

Probably not too hard to do, as the transfer box can be shifted to neutral while the engine spins the short prop from the gearbox to the transfer box. A PTO unit or pulley could be fitted between the prop and transfer box. I'd like to get a look at a PTO unit to see if it might be useable in this way.
