engine swap?

hi there,ive got a mk6 2000 x reg 90/330 rwd which has gone bang after 200,000 miles im going to put in a second hand motor.will a 2005 d2fa with all aux ie-alt/turbo/pumps fit?my main question is will i have to use my injector pump(coded to vehicle)or will the one on the new engine be ok?also the clutch pressure plate looks different will i have to use mine?the new motor is a 90hp.cheers for any help

the injector pump will need to be coded in, you could just swap the pumps around

cheers for that,i thought that would be the case!is it hard changing them over so its in time with correct piston or do you have to use a special tool

The pump needs to be timed up

you'll need a timing pin to lock the crank and a 6mm drill bit to lock the pump and also you'll need a special tool to hold the fuel pump sprocket in place when removing the pump

you need to make sure original pump has not failed causing engine failure first, i would just leave engine complete and code pump in, when all fitted.
auto locksmith, or mobile mechanic should be able to sort it, or tow to a ford dealer or other garage....

as your van is xreg, the map sensor, intake temp, and egr connections will be different so you will need to fit your EGR valve and your engine loom to the replacement, also if you dont do this the new "engine loom" wont match up to your earlier engine bay loom.

you will have to change inlet manifold aswell i think.

I think the 2003 motor i had chance of would have been simpler think the motor blow because stuck on motorway for hour & half (crawling)fully loaded then when cleared foot to floor & within 10 miles vibration and smoke stripped engine and second piston cracked with hole along pin direction.all pistons had same colour and injection pattern on so done think pump at fault?
