dont worry too much over the unit i'm sure we can get one :!:

lets have a list of who's up for it and see if we can get to the magic 20 :D copy/paste and add your name and what you can help with :D

Luke - engine fitting general mechanical
ripbuster - ???
AlanN - plastic master
matthew2riches - interior
madmark_50484 - help out general odd jobs
Lukes mate Ian - bodywork
whitemice - ???

add your name - even if you can only do 1 day or 2 :D

I think it'd be best to build a custom van something along the lines of lowered wide wheels arches gull wing doors, mid mounted V8 custom interior - the advantage of doing a custom van is it's more interesting to read about we wouldnt be spending loads on parts, as stuff can be adapted made to fit etc.

we need
someone who can actually do the spray painting its self
auto electricians?? who can do the wiring??
someone who could get us the screen out and refit as theres a bit of corrosion on top of the screen!
welders! the more the merrier
bodywork guys theres way too much for 1 man
we'd also need a few guys on the interior
and somone who can take pics and post updates on the forum for us
and any more you can think of

and if you need any inspiration go and watch an episode of overhaulin  i just think it'd be a great opertunity to see a project which would normally take months/years get built up over a weekend 8) 8)

So, do we have a possible date in mind? Autumn like sensible people or depths of winter :?

Like I said. I'm happy to do carpentry and fabric interior mattresses, floor carpet, etc... Can bring various tools.

I can also upload photos from my iPhone or MacBook

I'll bring a BBQ :P

Where would ply and MDF, etc come from?

Im definately in (unless wild horses drag me)
I will muck in wherever you need me..
As stated it needs plenty of photo's/Video recording (Webcam live feed would be nice but maybe not feasible)
Could you mock up a photo first on an agreed design?
Maybe a bit of business associate sponsorship?
Free press promotion for the site?
I know of one charity where this would help a lot of brave men and women!!

yeah we could have donations for purchasing materials we dont get given  - at the end of the day the whole van would go on ebay and hopefully fetch a good price which all goes to charity :D

I would be happy to join in on this project, I'm good with the spanners and better with wires! I will try and get my good friend Nick on board too, he is an exceptional welder fabricator (check my progress report for pics of his handiwork on my exhaust system and custom bullbars) and would be very handy to have around!

once we get to 20 we'll have a serious go at it - set dates etc. and start organising it properly :!:

and Alan's right it will take so much organising for it to actually be completed in time it does have to be next year :D

We need to plan, what we are going do to do, ie engine, wheels, styling, interior, paint, as well as general overhauling to brakes suspension etc, we need lists of parts/materials that we need to acquire, then we need a schedule of works so that the jobs get done in the correct order, with no double working, Finally we need to arrange for an MOT, before showing at Transitmania
