second gear sometimes doesn't engage properly

Guys

I'm in the process of buying a MK6 Transit for the first time, and the 1 I've seen sometimes when changing from 1st to second doesn't engage properly until you shift it the second time, it's a 100ps model 2001, is this a major problem, or a replacement cable job, mileage isn't high. Also here's a small rust hole under the passenger door on the footplate, is this a big problem or normal?

You can adjust the cable but it will eventually need a new cable.

I had this problem on my 2000 swb transit

I would tyr spraying some kind of lubricant on the solector were the cables jion the gear box.

mine was like new after no more probs no new cables.

gear cable is proberbly worn out and will need replacing or could be the start of selectors seizing up which is common or at worse the gearbox is knackered...
yes mk6 do rust and if you buy it get it waxoiled...
