Thanks Guys. I haven't seen stephen for ages,since he finished his van i havn't gone to him. though i have seen it ready in his garage, i could not get some decent pictures. He promised me to take it out side for some photos some day,when its clean from some dust,and thats just it!
Well , back to my van, not much today, just patched a piece of a wheel arch!

This looked like this first.

I cut the infected part of the rust with my grinder.

And put fresh metal in,

Then i linished it with a thicker grinder wheel . Thats all for today! 8)

Today i cut of the rusty corner metal near the inner wheel arch;

From below;

Ah! I used my new jodler which my friend bought me from England. Punches neat holes for welds.

Image

Then i cut a strip of metal punched some holes and had a maraton of welding;

Image

Image

Then i grinded the welds as smoth as possible,so i can shape it smoth with a bit of filler;

Thats all for today,as i have only time to do my van after 8.00pm .

MORE :twisted: HORROR :twisted: to come :twisted: :twisted: :twisted:

These last few weeks i sorted some more metal work. I started by measuring the under panel and transfering it on to paper then had to go to a sheet metal factory and transfer everything on metal.

I started to weld on this Z looking part to the outriggers of the van, then punched holed the top with holes for later plug welds.
From the outside;

From the inside; Original panel is moulded mine is plain :(

Then spot welded to the floor;

Start grinding the welds flat.

Next job is to fit this part, which can be seen next to the old rusty one;

"But i think i'm eating more than i can chew!!" ... No I don`t think so... you are doing a grand job, You definately can`t gice up now, or someone else will benefit from your hard work and have an easier restoration to do... Keep going, and thing of the feeling of achievment you will have when you get out there and drive it :D
