whats best engine

hi all new to here, am after a van for work but low on funds. I've got 500 to 800 quid tops am after a lwb. I had a v reg 1 at my last job perfect for my work, it was well noisy an couldn't do hills at all ! i no it was a 2.5 an that's about it i've had a few of these vans and they all seem to be the same ?? thing is i don't want to by a van that's so under powered an noisy. so what am i looking for? and witch engine is best to get to mod ?? any ideas ???

For that money you'll be getting similar to what you had before, but now you've found this forum you'll be able to sort the problems.

nice 1 lads if i get the 2.5 di ?? is it could i pull that lump out an fit the turbo vertion or is that a pain to do ?

You could change the engine for a turbo one or add a turbo to your existing engine as some people have done

or get a petrol 4 cylinder engine much quieter and not much more thirsty on fuel..
