Oil leak anybody know what this part is (pictures)

you sure it's coming from up there, as I would't have thought much oil could get past the egr valve, as it has no connection to any oilways. Sure it's not a bit lower down, around the top little pulley area :?: (arrowed on your picture)

it possibly could be from the pulley area is hard to tell though theres quite a bit of oil around the whole area /i will have to give it a steam off and keep checking it what is the pulley connected too ?

if theirs oil all over its more likely that its from a boost pipe or EGR valve. DEpends on what the engine is breathing like, what type of oil is used and what condition turbo is in.

i was just goin on what aph said /that there was no oil connection with egr valve /it does look like its coming from there though turbo is on opposite side of engine thanks/does egr valve have a connection with oil system

turbo boosts air in the boost pipes :wink: , oil seals can pass a small amount of oil normally, but sometimes a lot, EGR valve is inline with boost pipe to intake.

oil leaks are more common at the vac pump and gasket though (arrowed)

Sometimes it just leaks from the gasket between vac pump and water pump, so replacing the gasket can often do the trick.
