ideas for the van?

Postby Luke » Fri Aug 27, 2010 4:17 pm

Post up here any ideas you'd like to see on the van :D

This is some pictures of the base van for the project :D

obviously we need to work with the people/skills we have on the project but as we get more volenteers we should be able to build a stunning van between us :!:

once all the ideas are submitted we can set up some poll's and vote on which way to go

I think make a smart mini bus out of it with a tv and playstation and donate it to a childrens charity afterwards for day trips. I'm sure we could get a company to donate some electrical stuff if its for a good cause, might be able to get some financial support if its for a good cause as well :)

Also my wife is a manager at LV insurance and might be able to get some sponsorship for us. If its ok with everyone i'll get her to have a word when she goes back to work. (she's on holiday for a week)

tbh i dont think it would be ideal to give to a childrens charity it's a 18 year old van remember :) - i think we'd be better auctioning it off on ebay and donating the cash raised to charity(s) (chosen later) and let them spend that on what they want :D

we'll start new posts for donations sponsorship promotion ideas etc. :D

If it is going to be sold at the end, I'd guess the best thing would be a day van sort of thing :?

I'd like to see a good rake on it, so something like 17's or 18's on the back and 14's on the front, so it looks like it means business 8)

There are too many lowered vehicles IMO, fine for circuit racing but when the hell would you get to do that?! At least with big fat tyres on the back and a big engine it could be taken down the strip for next to no money!

how about a a five link rear axle like on the mk2 escort rally cars and fit full independant suspension with coil overs. drop it to the deck with 18" wheels. get the thing handling as well as going fast  :D

also how about looking at using the v8 engine out of the bmw 540i. 290bhp as standard. you could pick a donor car up for about £500.
