This is the Campervan i bought v reg,190 2.5 diesel non turbo,it's a part finished project,was already ply lined with grey carpet,interior lights,skylight vent,windows,
electric 240 volt sockets and EHU fitted,two seat benches,new clutch,new tyres,steel keguards fitted,got a spare bonnet and oven with it,i paid 1380 and it had 2 monthbs tax and 6 months mot,but thbe mileage was a tad high at 183000. well i don't know how to put an image up on thbis forum lol,pics are on computer,do thbey have to be on photobucket or similar?

At some point i will have to cut in the side to fit a vent for fridge and other devices,any tips or know how on doing these?

For Good Fridge vents, easy to cut hole with a Jigsaw, make sure you mask off around the area you are cutting and also rust proof the cut edge once cut.

Fixing the fridge vents with Sikaflex is better than screwing them onto the body as it creates a good water tight seal and superior adhesion. Plus no screws to rust away.!!

Hardly worth external venting fridges in this country so long as you obviously vent flue gases you can use inner venting for free air circulation, plus the fridge does not end up completely rusty and filthy.

Another way is to take lower external air below floor at rear of fridge and vent internally at top.

Use non hardening white caravan bedding sealant for sealing flue @£3-4 at caravan dealers.

I would disagree with Whitemice's opinion, you will find the NCC reccomend venting the fridge as do the largest manufacturers Dometic / Electrolux, only the Waeco compressor fridges do not need venting. In fact we have tried internal venting methods on several vans and ended up replacing fridges which have overheated and failed prematurely.

This Electrolux RM2200 has only been in this motor 19 years and is still mint, it uses an underfloor external intake from within the ally panel betwixt fibreglass and chassis and vents internally with external flue.

There are motorhome converters that use no external air venting in many an autosleeper.

well to make sure it complies with regulations or please VOSA when i do this fitting what is the reccomended option? Don't really want to cut too many holes and only want to do this job once.Does anyone know how i can upload pics from my pc on here,thanks,

One thing, if you do go the unnecessary full-metal-jacket side vents route, considering the cost of new fridgefreezers it would be worth considering the extra cost for the type of covers that can be closed off when not in use as the fridge rear will get filthy and rusted with ordinary types.

However even these 'winter vents' are pretty limited in motorhomes, it is best to run the fridge on 12v most of the time to keep the coolant in circulation which prevents airlocks and this would require you opening the vents everytime you drive.

Still waiting for a fridge before i can fit everything in.I have a cooker and sink unit still in an old trailer tent whbich i hbave to dismantle,but i got this zig unit which i repaired...

Would like some sort of heater,can anyone recommend a suitable economical type to fit?

I use bottled gas in my campervan for the fridge, cooker, grill, water heater. ect.. so it made sense to fit a gas heater as well. The type that I bought was a Propex Heater.
