If you mean Map sensor that is Manifold Absolute Pressure, which will only measure atmospheric pressure but never a vacumn on a TD.
The vacumn lines are only for brake servo, heater/aircon controls and the EGR activation solonoid, which if a big enough leak in lines would cause problems with EGR positioning.
I think The MAP sensor on connects (or early ones and tddi at least), is connected by a small tube near inlet manifold, this looks like a vac tube, but if a vac tube has accidently been connected to this(seen it many times when pipes have all been mixed up) then will cause fuel cut/power loss.

Where is the tube on the MAF supposed to connect to, as I'm sure mine goes to the EGR
