fabricating shock mounts wouldnt be a problem im just weighing up all my choices of getting my wheels on cheapest way really but what about the fronts i was thinking a long the lines of a like £20 donor car and transfering the running gear over
but that has widened my opions a bit as long as the front could be done to i was think of the weight issue even though it will never carry excess weight as its used as a car rather than van
thanks

fate!! whilst down at my mate the transit breakers today. after searching most of the day for parts.
an old mk3 petrol comes trailered in so like a fly round sh%t i fliy straight over to it and underneath to check the prop out to see if it was the one i was after but no joy
so i climb in side to see what salvagable bits i can scavenge
i see part of a prop buried under loads of crap and it turns out to be my original 2.0 efi prop that i snapped and threw away 6 months ago!!!

now heres the next bit not had chance to get to my van yet .
as its only the rear half of the prop i need and they split in two at the bearing will this rear half connect to the other prop that i now have!!!!
which is a normal prop this prob dont help but nearly every van ive checked in the scrappies all seem to have this prop on
if thats not too confusing lol

You can have several options for the same engine :!: :( So there isn't a simple answer to your question :(

right axles: type 32 single wheel salisbury looks like capri axle and uselessly weak for a transit, type 34 square casing type swb axle, wider on the later variants as already pointed out, type 51 basically same as type 52 but single wheel, type 52 twin wheel axle, mk 1 2 3, type 53, old ford a series axle does not fit transit! (different shackles and very low 5.8 ratio!) as a rule of thumb on twin wheel, most chassis cabs where 5.1 ratio and panel vans 4.63 plenty more info for those who need it.

Having spent the best part of the last 15 years writing both the PARTS CATALOGUE, and more importantly, THE PREFACE for the Transit, all I will say here is...

Don't ask!

Axle specs changed regularly, and not just on facelift/new models.

As to any sign of there being a common axle fora spec? Forget it, the idea is the CUSTOMER specifies the van they want...

I'll see if I can cop a copy of the preface files for the Transit from 86/92/95/2000/2006. That way, assuming some clown hasn't been messing, you can tell what Ford fitted in the first place.

Oh, and don't ask ME anything clever, I retired 6 months ago, and I've forgotten most of it!
I really DID write the book...
